Hansil’s Bar and Grill has been part of the Oakland community since 1993, started by the Hansil family and now proudly run by the next generation.
For more than three decades, we’ve served homemade comfort food, poured countless drinks, and welcomed locals like family. Here, everyone feels at home whether you’re stopping in for dinner, a game of darts, or a night of live music.

Hansil’s began as a small family-owned spot focused on homemade food and genuine hospitality. What started as a simple neighborhood bar has grown into a true Oakland staple known for great meals, live music, and a community atmosphere.

This is such a great place to spend weekend nights. I just love the jerk chicken fingers and chicken curry roti the most!! The chef is super awesome and so are her daughter and other 2 hosts. They just make you feel so good and take good care of you. The karaoke nights are so fun and entertaining.
It’s a neighborhood place with local folks sipping draft beer and chowing down on some fine Jamaican food. Who knew?
There’s some fantastic live music, an open mic thing with a super back line band on Wednesdays

My favorite bar! The atmosphere is great and everyone is welcoming. My favorite thing at Hansil’s is their Cajun chicken sandwich! SO GOOD! The owners are lovely and really nice! Just a great place when you’re looking to have some fun out of the house!
